Default Order Number Starting Point

Is there a way to adjust the starting number of the orders? I'm migrating a site and I need to start the number so it does not conflict with existing numbers.

You can set the starting number for invoices here:

Store setup > Cart & Checkout > General > Next order #:

It's just below the Terms and conditions relative URL: entry on that page

PS: I'm in the same boat as you. I have X-Cart version 4.1.9 and testing 5.2.3. How are things going for you so far? Do you regret not going 4.7?

5.2.3 build is going okay, we're taking our time to do it properly (for us)

No, not really regretting moving. We tried them back to back (but it was 4.6 and 5.1.11 i think) and then made the decision we thought suited us most. Things have got better with both since then so it would probably be the same decision now.

We have a paid licence for both 4 series and 5 series, so if there's a nuclear implosion once 5.2.3 goes live we could restore 4.1.9 whilst we busily prepare a 4.7 replacement - in theory!

Yep...We have a 4.1 backup and will keep it as a backup.

For use, the user friendliness and the fact that it "feels" newer. XC4 just feels old compared to 5, We just sucked it up and got the mods we needed created by the Qualiteam.

Are you doing your own orders and user export or paying for it?

Users we expect to re-register once 5.2.3 takes over. We will explain why (in a nice way ) as part of an FAQ section and via a mail-out prior to the swop over, so that's easy for us.

The existing orders database will be exported and processed outside of X-Cart.

The products we have exported and are busy "converting" all the records to 5 series spec as they are not the same as 4 series as you probably know already.

5.2.3 will be a new line in the sand for business records (and a spring clean!) really
