Default {thumb} plugin still around??

Hi,
Just been working with 4.4, must say the backend is a lot neater.
Anyway, I wanted to resize some images on the fly, and I used to use the smarty {thumb file=x height=x width=y} but I can't seem to find the exact code example or whether it still is include?

I really do need to resize because its for a full screen fader that is dealing with large pictures.
I want javascript ie jquery to get the browser resolution size pass that to to the thumb plugin and resize then diplay the sequence of pictures.
