Home page
Would like to use the main storefront as home page instead of the enter store page.Help files say use index.html to direct but that is the page I want to bypass
How can you navigate through the store and get back to main page without using back browser or clicking logo? |

Shan...little confused here new to x cart. When my url is entered I want the main storefront page to come up.I don't even want to see the ENTER STORE page. That enter store page is the index.html which should be the root already. So how do I relate the page I want to come up when the url is entered.

Replace the contents of your index file with the code in the FAQ.
It's as easy as that. When your www.yoursite.com URL is entered, the index page will automatically redirect the user to your cart. Good Luck! |

Shan, it looks like Chet is using 3.4.0 with that new index.html page.
Am I correct Chet? If so, point your link to www.yoursite.com/customer/home.php. Hope that helps

Yes ...I just had this a few days. Really confused because on a normal index page the url www.mystore.com/index.html is the first page you see.
What do I do with the current enter store index.html and where do I put the link that goes to customer/home.php. Is this page (enter store index) like a place holder and if so wouldn't I have to replace that page with the customer/home.php and rename index.html??? |

Chet,
3.4.0 is just out and that index.html page is a new feature, so most people don't think of it when they are diagnosing problems. With that said, here's what I think you need to do... The index.html page was added to help out with search engine placement. Search engines give higher priority to non-database driven pages, hence the simple index.html. If you really don't like the page at all and aren't worried about search engine rankings, just delete the file (index.html). Your index.php page should take over and automatically forward your visitors to the store's homepage customer/home.php. If search engines are imporatant to you, well, that's another post (which is going to be quite long) which I will write if need be. Hope this helps

You can't get to them through the admin panel built into x-cart. Instead you should try to ftp into your site (using something like leapftp or wsftp) and delete them there. You might also be able ftp into your site through your hosting control panel.
