X-Cart v4.4.4 released

I have said this before, When 4.4 was released , They claimed it was a stable version, but now it appears to be worse than when released, They fix bugs and create new bugs by fixing.

I need a stable release that can be used and not worry about bugs that may happen.

How about fixing the cart instead of worrying about releasing add on modules to the cart. How can you release a module for a cart that is full of bugs and expect the module to work correctly.

4.4.4 seems to be pretty stable. Most of the problems seem to have to do with the add-on modules, and the answer is really quite simple, don't use them until they are stable.

There is no such thing as "bug free" software. It exists only theoretically. 4.4.x started with many bugs but I would say 4.4.4 is pretty good and stable. There are still bugs probably and things not done right but the cart is way better now.
BTW it is not QT's responsibility to make sure XC wotks with addon modules, it is the addon developer responsibility to make sure their addons don't break the cart.

I wasn't referring to 3rd party modules but the ones that come standard with x-cart. Things like "wishlist", "socialize", "customer reviews", and the like that are nice to have but not necessarily needed for the cart to function.

You are right about the the modules included with XC - they should work and be stable, especially now when they are released as part of XC install

Definatelly. Even 4.4.2 was ok for live store, 4.4.3 had more issues though, but 4.4.4 is very good from my testings so far

We have been since about 2 weeks after it was released.

Yep the whole Adress Book Fiasco is a joke.

We are live on 4.4.4 and after being with X-cart for 6 years it may be time for a change. Our current major issue is that if a customer clicks on the "Register" link and then enters name/password and not complete an address (lots don't as thats how Wish Lists work, especially at Christmas time. Prices are then all shown exclusive of TAX - this is eve with the "assume a non logged in customer is from the UK)

All we need is for the customer to be forced to enter more basic details on the register page. QT are trying to charge us for this!!
