Now you have completely lost me, your on a windows 7 pc or laptop right? and your saying "This software doesn't support ie6/7" what do you mean?

As to your question any suggestions, you really need to know your css, and more importantly html together to make sure your design works well, although as I stated it's only visual, but visual appearance is everything to most visitors.
Nothing personal, as your shop is up to sell products.

It would be very complex for any users here to say do this, and do that, if you give specifics, etc I am sure most users will help where they can.

Someone posted about your flyout menus, to maybe correct issues. (I would focus on that) Or revert back to your normal design and see if the flyouts work ok.. Or even use the tree category rather than the flyout menus.

Here to help like I said where and when I can.

You can see it with Firefox/Firebug

Thanks for that, but did not seem to make any differace to the width of the box

thank you for your welcome input - Lewis

Your welcome.
You say you'll contact x-cart, but out of the box templates for 4.3.0 from what I have tested at home on my test server, all seem to be fine apart from Browser issues as mentioned.

If you have applied modification (Your rounded border boxes) it may be an issue with them, note I say "Maybe"

This is why I said on previous post to test your site on an out of the box supported 4.3.0 template from (X-cart) with no edits, as for me fly outs work a treat as far as I am aware.

As to editing the fly outs, there is quite a bit of complex css within just them. (It took me about 5 hours just to get it right on my test designs) to be compatible with all browsers to compliment my custom designs, so that it looks great with me design both with flyout and tree view.. I could mess around with css on flyouts but have better things to do.

I am not saying I am a genius as I am getting to learn x-cart again after a long break, and to me some of the css edits can be frustrating to find, even with firebug. But I enjoy html, css designing, which is what I do and also Java, especially tabs and content.

At the end of the day sometimes it pays to have a great looking site viewable properly in all browsers, with no issues. Imagine going to play.com and seeing a badly compatible and design site, that would look unpro.

My personal advice:
Buy from a modder that knows there design inside and out, with great styling where you don't have to do any edits, Or use x-carts templates and do very light edits, that can give you a more personal design, this way you have an out of the box great looking site for the extra cost (But may be worth it at the end of the day)

I am currently working on 4.3.0 designs, with custom tabs, boxes, accordion styles with rounded boxes, using jquery my own custom designs etc, and complete visual changes on where various things are placed, and also working on text and Image adverts, and trying to fill a lot of what I call white space (Wasted space) when viewing a lot of x-cart areas, to accommodate more selling options.

That should have worked for you in Firefox.

I just took a quick look at IE8 - you will also have to make the same changes to the width in skin1/modules/Flyout_Menus/Icons/main.IE7.css

For IE7 - you can use the IE Developer Tools to look at css, html & javascript.

It adjusted the box for me (X-Cart 4.3.1) modifying the main.css in skin1 flyouts menu but only for Chrome, not for Firefox (3.6.3) nor IE8.
I'm still looking for a resolution for IE and FF.

That adjustment worked for me... but in the intended way. I played with the width of .fancycat-icons-e ul and can make it wide enough to accomodate my categories, but then the box/container edge gets covered and looks bad as well.

I somehow need to make the box wider on that side.
