I have inadvertently messed up the head.tpl template. So much so that when I now look at any xcart page there is nothing on it. ie I cannot go in and change it. I was editing the head template at the time. I am quite happy to restore the head file to default but where do I get one from. I have looked at the file in the ftp but it does not make much sense to me and I am unsure of what to change.

Hi again Mark. First, please put your X-Cart version number in your signature, it will help us help you.

To restore templates, just go to the template you broke in the Admin interface, and scroll to the bottom. Hit the 'Restore' button and it will bring back the original from the skin1_original directory.

Yes I would like to be able to restore the file but as I have messed up the head.tpl file so much I cannot even see anything in the admin area as this uses the head.tpl in its display. I guess xcart must hold back up head.tpl files somewhere on the server and I just need to find out where they are.

Also in ref to the signiture, I will add it but I am not sure what version I got. I know it is 4 but what release I am not sure. Is there a quick way.

The original head.tpl file is in the skin1_original directory. Just copy it out of there and send it up to the skin1 directory, should fix you right up.

If you go to 'Summary' in your admin settings (once you fix your head.tpl) you will see the X-Cart version number down under Environment info.
