Linkint to PHP pages from HTML pages
Hi
My site homepage is produced from the HTML catalog. I want to be able to add links on this page to PHP pages ie http://www.mysite.co.uk/shop/customer/home.php?cat=960 The problem is every time the html page is generated it turns the php links into HTML links and i really need to link to dynamic categories for a few stock products Anyone got any solutions barring running the site out in PHP mode or adding CDSEO Regards John x-cart 3x

Re: Linkint to PHP pages from HTML pages
Well, you don't want to do that as you will get penalized for duplicate content. You want PHP or HTML, not both. I'd avise using one of the Dynamic URL links, will make your life a whole lot easier.

Re: Linkint to PHP pages from HTML pages
Hi Balinor
Thanks for the quick response I need to add the dynamic links to our stock pages as if use html links items can appear in stock when actually we have sold out of that item. I already have a no follow in my HTaccess file so SE arn't spidering the PHP side The HTML side of the site is already well indexed in the SE's so i don't want to revert back to the PHP side. Is there anything i can add to individual links to keep the pointing to PHP pages when the site converts to HTML Regards John

Re: Linkint to PHP pages from HTML pages
Ok, I see what you mean...but using the Dynamic URL mods will eliminate this problem as it will still be a php page (showing live stock, etc) but use a search engine friendly url. You could use mod_rewrite to redirect the old html catalog links to the new dynamic urls.
If you don't want to do that, you will need to open up a ticket with X-Cart to adjust the html catalog module for you, as that will require some modification, particularly since you are using an older version.
