Default where to change portal page?

I couldn't find the file to modify the portal page:

http://www.avenui.com/store/

Could you please let me know where to edit? I did a search here but did not find anything.

Thank you!

Default Where is the shop folder?

I'm looking for the same answer. I go to Admin, Static Pages and there is the index page, but I can't seem to edit the page. When I update, I end up with the original text.

I know the answer given was to go to the shop folder, but so far, I haven't run across that. I have seen several answers on the forum, but they all seem to say "just go to the shop folder" or "Go to the shop folder and I'm sure you know what to do after that."

So my question is: Where is the shop folder? And just to be safe, once I get there, will I be looking for portal, index or what?

I am new to almost all of this. I will be using X-Cart almost straight as it was provided to me. I figured out the languages section, uploaded files and logos, added products, etc. But I either need a way to change that darn page or I'll just bypass it.

I'm using X-Cart 3.5.4.

Keep your answer simple. I taught myself FrontPage and html and Visual Basic, but now all I'm familiar with is FrontPage.

Shop folder is the folder where you uploaded the x-cart files. So if you called it x-cart that is what it is.

www.domainname.com/x-cart for example.

There just change index.htm page if that is the one you are talking about.

You will have t do this by downloading the file using FTP, changing the file and then uploading it.

Thank you very very much. I had the control boys at X-Cart do the install and setup. As far as I could glean from the manual, downloading, changing and uploading a file may be easier for those adept at html, smarty, etc., but not necessary for us non-Internet gods. I have been attempting to change everything through the X-Cart control panel. I would not have tried modifying the file without using the control panel, except as a last resort.

Since I am self-taught, anything outside of my scope is totally mystifying. I have been able to change most things, but an easy concept like using FTP to change the file would not occur to me unless someone points it out.

I am sure that the few other questions that I have are equally self-evident to those who have attended any kind of structured schooling. For myself, I wish that the manual was set up more in the fashion of a Dummies book.

Again, I truly appreciate your response. It was concise and informative. I will have the portal page changed within 20 minutes.

Default Redirect

Put this in your index.html

<meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; url=http://www.yourdomain.com/index.php">

that should bypass the index.html

Hope that helps!

you will bypass your index.html and yo will have some of the spiders not liking you.

If you really like to bypass your index.html you will be better of if you use a permanent redirect in your .htaccess file.

I hope this helps

Kind regards,
Ricky
