X-cart / phpBB integration
Hey, does anybody know how I can get my phpBB to run in the centre section of my xcart template so it looks like just another page of my website? This would be great if I could get this to work.
Also I would like the login files to be integrated - i.e. a customer signs up to the site...those login details are valid for the forum aswell. Any help appreciated. Shaun

I may have this holy grail solution for you within the next 2 weeks. If I manage it then I will be able to pass on integration for a reasonable sum

That would be awesome...I have been looking for something like this as well. Please make it available for 3.5 versions also if you do it!

Why not edit your phpBB templates using the look of your x-cart?

Yep, phpBB has a header and footer file that you could utilise. if you wanted to import your side boxes and other elements that would be trickier, but a simple link back to your shop is all that's needed. |

This is something that I will surely do in the next couple of days. I think having a forum on a storefront is the best way to get new relavant customers who are interested in buying your products/services.
I'm gonna buy that MOD - thanks john! |

I use that mod, it's actually Boomer's "cart-lab" mod. It works well so that users who shop and register at your store, can use the same login details in the phpBB forum. There is also a product selector that allows forum usres to include links to your store's products in their forum posts.
The latter is great as our customers tend to mention competitior's in their posts and prior to making it easy for them to use our products and links, they didn't really do so. I did have to mod the mod so that it only showed active products (showed all "hidden" and "inactive" products as well). But, overall, it's a great integration of users. Now if only I could automatically assign memberships upon forum registrations or if it was phpBB to X-Cart vs. only XC to phpBB ... then forum users coukld receive discounts and other membership priveledges ... that would be excellent! Mike
