admin pages - background + text (css?)
hello,
i though i was getting good at these css + colour changes but my front end look ok - the css does that well - but my choice of background has made the admin text (quite important to read) "invisible". I've tried for several hours to put the code (which template ?) in a table then have a white background....but that only seems to balls up the front end. Which admin template should i change to make most / all admin pages have the central section white in colour ? thanks chris xcart gold Version 3.5.9 |

Did you add the background image via CSS (in skin1.css) or did you put it in the actual template?

admin pages - background + text (css?)
hi thanks for the quick reply - i've been starting to add images urls to the css recently (with very impressive results...and much easier than adding them to templates).
So i thought i'd leave the css with the background image attached but add a white backgrd to the home.tpl (or similar one) to make the text stand out if you look at http://www.krimzoncastle.co.uk/xcart/customer/home.php and imagine that red cloth background with black / very dark, red small text on (its fine against the white table background front-end but invisible at the admin end. I found the text class which controls the offending invisible text - but if i make it white / light which is good for the admin end - it's then invisible for the front end. I suppose i could ditch the red background....but the clients like it. Which .tpl does the admin generally use which i could plonk a white backed table in ? thanks chris

Here's the easy solution: create a seperate css file for the admin side of things. That is the way it is done in version 4. Create a skin1_admin.css and paste in the default .css file from skin1_original. Then go to single/home.tpl and change the name of the css file called to skin1_admin.css. That way, things that you change on the front end won't affect the back end.

admin pages - background + text (css?)
hi thanks for the reply...i tried that different admin skin css but i must have made some path error as i just got a white screen after reloading it....but the good news is you pointed me to the right .tpl - single/home.tpl which i put a white background on - so the text shows clearly on - thanks alot
