Product options text box too small - how to make it bigger ?

Using the fashion mosaic skin, I have a product option box , but the full option name doesnt display (it's more than 17 characters) , I either need to re align the product option box further to the left or I need to make the main page wider.

So the question is how and what files ?

to align the options box to the left more, skin1/main/customer/product.tpl

to widen the whole site, skin1/customer/home.tpl

Thanks - but , Im getting paranoid :-
I dont have a
skin1/main/customer/product.tpl but I do have a
skin1/customer/main/product.tpl

Any pointers as to where/what I need to change , I'm not fully up to speed with TPL files - so could also need a pointer for some background TPL / x-cart reading ? if anyone knows a any good docs - please let me know - cheers

It is skin1/customer/main/product.tpl

Read this- there is one for 4.2 I couldn't find it now but it is siimilar, except in 4.2 the templates for client's side of the cart are all in skin1/customer

Steve - that is fantastic exactly what I wanted thanks - I'll have a read later.

WIth regards to the product.tpl and making the text box align further left in the page (so the end isnt cut off) I had a look at the product.tpl - and I cant see anything that looks I could align , or increase the size of etc , do I actually to need to write some new lines of code to make this happen ?

All of it is css controlled. For product details the right side has left margin. You can change that

Steve - I am being completely 100% stupid here.
In which file - main.css or product.tpl ?
What line am I looking at amending to increase left margin ?
(apologies for my lack of x-cart / TPL / CSS knowledge)

It is a class in main.css. Use Firebug to find out which class exactly

Update :-
I never got around to doing this (yet)
What I will say though is that it only happened because in the tax system details I also had the
Also display (on the products list, product details and cart pages):
set to display "Rate Value and tax cost" , with that enabled it pushed the product options box off the side of the main screen , so the dropdown arrow box was not displayed.
By setting this to display 'nothing' I dont get the problem.

Lesson learned
