How do I enter a script before the </head> tag in XCART 5.x.x?

I found the </head> tag: /default/en/header/body.tpl

However, entering the script crashes the site.

I need to paste a script into the website's HTML source code before the closing </head> tag. The script embeds Zendesk support options on the site.

The code needs to remain even after XCART version updates.

Or, do I need to do this by creating some sort of module that adds the script to the site? If so, how does someone with limited coding experience go about it?

Yes you need a module.

Another option is to use a different support ticket product.

Faster configuration, cleaner layout, and iframe tags work! Freshdesk is considerably cleaner and easier to work with than Zendesk.
