Editing tpl files
To edit a tpl file I extract the contents from the Edit template window and paste this into Textpad. After editing in Textpad I then past back into the Edit template window and Save.
Textpad has html and psp4 'awareness' and is able to handle .psp and html files. Does anyone else use this tool to help indent and highlight the .tpl files. Should I be doing this? Is there a better way? (I also use UltraEdit (ideal for a bit of hexcode) but prefer Textpads addon syntax ability) |

I just tend to edit the original local files and ftp them all when sorted - much quicker than the admin area.
Use UE to do it all...UE is cool

I turn on webmaster mode copy the file into Dreamweaver and then paste it back into the webmaster "edit file" page. Works well for me.

Yes, Ulta Edit is powerful (and cool) and I was surpised to find that no one has yet created a Smarty template *.tpl syntax file for it. Well at least I cant find one. I use the PHP4 checker all the time. I would image it would be a combination of the php/html checker and a bit more.

UltrEdit
I stand correct, as I just found an older Boomer post point to such a syntax file. (search UltraEdit)
