Default Xpayments and subdomains

Just a quick question if anyone knows the answer

Will XPayments work with subdomains? I use it for the main domain and it works perfectly, but when using it under the subdomain, once you hit submit you get a small screen saying processing, and then it kicks you back to the main domain cart page with an error of no products ordered.
You don't actually arrive at the XPayments page to enter your details before you are kicked back.

***EDIT** I have a separate XCart license for the subdomain and configured it correctly through Xpayments

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Well, X-Payments works with subdomains just fine. By default, we provide subdomains for our new X-Payments plans (http://www.x-cart.com/xpayments-pricing.html).

This issue needs to be investigated by our techs. Please contact them at helpdesk@qtmsoft.com

My host said that x-payments MUST be installed on a subdomain.
So I did. Works exactly as it's supposed to.

NEW cPanel user account.
subdomain has its own SSL
I followed the install and config instructions to the letter. Don;t assume anything. Go slow. Don't ignore any step(s)

Thanks for the replies guys. After scratching head I realised that the main domain's SSL was not a wild card therefore not including any subdomains. I have applied for one but it takes a couple of days, but in the meantime I'm assuming this would be the problem or at least I can't trouble shoot any further if necessary until I get the new SSL.

Thanks again

If your using a dedicated server with only your xcart store on it, is xpayments still required to be in a subdomain?

Default Re: Xpayments and subdomains

X-payments needs to be installed under a separate hosting account from the store. I think the best way to meet this requirements is with a sub-domain (or another similarly named domain) set up under its own hosting account. I believe their reasoning from the beginning was to build X-Payments apart from X-Cart so X-Cart itself would not need to be PA/DSS compliant. There could be some risk to this if you put them together or keep them under one hosting account.

Default Re: Xpayments and subdomains

Generally speaking X-Payments must be run in completely separate hosting environment. It can be located on the same server physically, but its server space must be separate. Other reason for that is that your PCI compliant credit card space can be compromised through other software you are using. Taking in account X-Cart comes with 100% source code opened and can be customized by anyone in any way this can add ways to break into X-Cart space and compromise X-Payments installed there.
