Default Quick advice needed please.

Hello all,

I just got Xcart installed and running on my site. It runs fine but I want to edit the top frame. I need to do these 3 things right now.

1. I want to replace the entire top with my own image, well actually I already did, but there is a small white border at the top. I want my image to be flush with the top of the browser window.

2. I want to move the tab navigation buttons to the search bar below and just have the text links there.

3. I want to remove the phone number from the top completely.

Also I want to change some of the shopping cart CCS file. Can I edit that in Dreamweaver?

This whole template thing is a nightmare. Is there a better way to change the look of a site?

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe, welcome to X-Cart. Your best bet to start is to have a look at the manual if you have not already. It isn't the best thing in the world, but it is a start.

Next, spend some time reading through the forums. Many of the questions you are bound to have will have already been answered.

The X-Cart tempalte system has a pretty steep learning curve, so if you would rather focus your energy on your business, you can always hire a pro or X-Cart themselves to help you.

Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks. Yes I already found out the template system has a steep learning curve.

That's not a problem but it is just confusing trying to figure out what to edit and where.

I'm figuring it out. It just takes awhile since there is alot to it.

Thanks,
Joe

Webmaster mode will help you quite a bit in the beginning to determine which tempalte is which.
