Unfortunately this was one of the first things I tried. The only pages that the customer's first / surname shows upon are pages like: modify profile, cart etc. none of the product pages.

The variable '{$login}' however, is available throughout the site.

Nope, navigation still exists and functions similar to v3.4.x and 3.5.x

It would be really cool to be able to upsell items in the checkout overview page, or be able to cross-sell based on what is in the cart but would need to be accesable from the admin side. That would add a whole lot of value to xcart for sure, not to mention increase everyones sales....

I'd like to see single product options as checkboxes and more powerful coupons. I could really use a "once per customer" coupon.

Hi,
I would love to see:

1. Possibility to set up E-Goods product with additional downloads(through options/attributes setting).
2. Possibility to define one directory as Product with dynamically password protecting direct access to this directory/product (download store).
3. Customer front end in the X-Cart Root dir, not in the customer folder.
4. Possibility to us more than one Payment gateway for CC Payment methods (currently you can use PayPal and one another payment gateway )

I started to import products and categories and muck with the cart before I went through all the features. I'll reinstall with the carts demo products to test.

Total reinstall to new DB and Directory and still no nav.

The nav does appear in the admin area though

Some other odd things are happening too.

On a new cart install out of habit I usually make a new admin. Log out and then login as the new admin and delete master. On both times i installed when I went to make the new admin the cart says it was successful but the admin I just made does not appear under search and I cannot login to admin area with that new admin info.
If I try to make that new admin again the cart says that that user already exists. What's up?

Also when enable debugging console is enabled the window that usually appears detailing the tpl files used in the page does not appear.

Smarty 2.6.2 compliance is a must. The speed benefits are tremendous and carrying on with a new major release based on 2.5.0 would be a poor decision. We would be stuck with an outdated method of templating for at least another 2 years. By upgrading to 2.6.2 you will allow users the option to take advantage of future refinements to the Smarty templating engine. Locking us into 2.5.0 is limiting our abilities and options.

Gee, I'm a bit confused about Smarty. I don't think Smarty 2.6.2 will work with X-Cart out of the box without any problems. We spent much time patching and fine tuning Smarty 2.5.0 before it stopped generating incomatibility issues. It is possible to include the latest version of Smarty in 4.0 (although it will require much patching and testing to make sure it is fully comatible).
Ok, now to the point. Could you please tell what features of 2.6.2 (except version number) you wish to have that are missing in 2.5.0 Thanks.
