I agree. If you remember 3 years ago, in Spring 2010, we got 4.4.0 beta and spent lot of time reporting and solving bugs. That moment was a premiere in Community life. Anyone can check Bugtracker to see how many issues were reported at that time. A huge quantity.

Ideas for Server configuration (basicaly): Nginx/Pound (reverse proxy), Apache/Nginx (webserver), Squid/Varnish (cache server), HHVM or (PHP-FPM + PHP 5.6 + opcache), MariaDB/Percona MySQL Server, Redis (storing sessions)

Hi, guys!

I understand your feelings and realize that 10 days period might be short for some of you (developers).

However, taking in account that previous X-Cart version was released only 3 months ago, one month is a considerable period of time (1/3 of the entire release period) during which a lot of things can be changed and revised.

Steve, your suggestion regarding one month period makes sense if X-Cart is released once a year for instance. Otherwise, release candidate of the full value is not ready yet.

Moreover, this initial thread was aimed to notify you about upcoming changes. It was created on 04-11-2013.

In any case, we will take your suggestions into consideration and we appreciate your feedback.

That is the other suggestion I made - quarterly bug fix updates and 1 or 2 at the most major upgrades per year We don't need to have test period for bug fixing updates as they should not change anything in how cart works or introduce new features... So yes 4.6.0 with one month+ test period does make sense...

Sorry to go a little off track here

Hopefully we will get a chance to discuss this and other issues / suggestions in 2 days at the meeting... can't wait....

Although I have to say "thanks" one more time for listening to us and not releasing it as 4.5.6....

Wish I was there

I'm sure Max and Alex would welcome any suggestions and ideas
