Moving the Primary Menu
I'm just trying to move the primary menu from where it is to my own div at the very top of the page (in the code, not with a CSS bodge). I'm trying to get the logo, then the nav, then the search box all floated next to each other in the same div.
My theme/skin/module/whatever is a clone of the default one which I'm slowly going through and tweaking, so there's nothing really special about it (yet) and nothing is in any strange location file-wise. I can edit the menu template itself but just can't see from the Webmaster tool which template calls that in and where. As a WordPress theme builder and used to having everything a certain way, I'm finding this a nightmare in lots of ways. It's like a Russian Doll with templates inside templates! Can anybody point me in the right direction? Cheers in advance. & v.5.2 |

Re: Moving the Primary Menu
Hello @andyo,
Did you have a look at this article: http://kb.x-cart.com/display/XDD/Step+2+-+applying+design+changes What you need to do is to define a new view list in the template with your div, e.g. Code:
and then assign the Primary menu widget to it as described here: http://kb.x-cart.com/display/XDD/Step+2+-+applying+design+changes#Step2-applyingdesignchanges-Addingnewtemplatesandwidgets Please, let me know if it helps. Tony

Yes, had read that article but it seems to cover creating new templates. I just want to move the primary nav bar from one place to another. I wasn't expecting to have to create anything. On a second look it looks like the Primary Menu is a special case. I can include other templates / widgets in the way I was wanting to, but trying with the menu crashes it. Is that a correct assumption? I'm just going to write a static menu for now so the client can see it and figure it out later, but would appreciate any pointers. & |
