Default 4.2 and IE 5.5

I thought it was me until I tested the demo site on x-cart.com

The template completely fails loading....

After looking at the stats on my dedicated server. Looks like Ive make an 9% error that could cost my client business.

People are still using even IE 5 very few but enough.

I have to admit. I should have listened to advise aound here and waited before upgrading my client to 4.2.

IE5 is no longer supported by anyone - if someone is still using IE 5 they will not be able to do much on the web. We stopped optimizing for that over 2 years ago. Look closely at your stats, you'll see that most of the IE 5 visitors are not 'real' people but bots.

Can the bots still work efficiently, since they only use the HTML source of the website.

No reputable bot would be emulating IE5 - most likely a spam bot

Spam bots on x-cart? it's not a forum...
What would be the purpose of the spam-bot?
Trolling the web for places to spam?

Trolling the web for e-mail addresses - that's how they harvest them. They can also submit contact forms, customer reviews, etc. Just trying to make your life hell
