Default XCSeo mod rewrite

I've been reading about installing your shopping cart as close to the root as possible. Currently my shopping cart is installed in "http://www.domain.com/store" with a 301 redirect off "http://www.domain.com".
I'm running XCSeo which rewrites all of my urls in the same directory (.../store/...). Is it possible to tweek the code to rewrite the urls off of the root directory (ie: http://www.domain.com/)?

I tossed around the idea of just reinstalling the shopping cart in the root directory, but it would make a mess of my file structure. I'm on shared hosting (have other personal domains) for the moment until more money rolls in.

Thanks for all your help,
Dwight

Hi Dwight, while it's possible to have the rewritten URLs be mapped to your site root (with some modification), the rest of your /store/ files (i.e. - help.php, cart.php, etc) would still have to be accessed via /store/

This would be akin to exporting HTML Catalog into your root, but the rest of the store would still be located in /store/

If you're fine with that limitation, contact me, I'll help you with this change.

Jon, thanks for the offer. I was hoping it would be just a few line changes. I may just move my shopping cart and save myself the hassel down the road. Is there anything I should be concerned with during the move in terms of your mod?

I do have one other question for you. I'm using the robots.txt suggestion by X-cart with your version.
"Static Version"
http://www.x-cart.com/ecommerce-articles/setting-up-robots-file.html

Can I just use yours or should I still combine the two. I'm feeling your file covers every senario already.

Thanks again,
Dwight

You could mix in some of the other DISALLOW statements listed in Qualiteam's example, as that's definitely more comprehensive Shouldn't hurt.

EDIT: btw, regarding changes to XCSEO for what you were wanting to do, it likely is just a few line changes, just with that limitation as mentioned.
