I recently purchased a third party X-Cart mod which I really want to use on my site, but the developer who I purchased it won't return my e-mails or provide tech support (at least in a timely manner). My question is that it seems to be developed for Gold and doesn't work with my X-Cart Pro site.

In my admin, each page under the administration that comes up states the following:

Page not found!

The requested page does not exist or you are not allowed to access it!


Now I know the page is there and the mod was installed correctly, but this must be an issue with how it was coded for Gold, as I'm not using Simple Mode or Single Mode with my Pro site.

Is there a way to fix this kind of thing generally speaking. I'm not sure, but I'm thinking it's because of auth.php or the require lines in the mod.

It's as if these pages do not see me as the admin when I'm logged in.

Hi delerium, often when you get that error message, it means that X-Cart doesn't know which TPL file to include (meaning since you're using Pro, likely you edited the wrong file).

If you made any changes to files in skin1/single/, you'll likely need to duplicate those changes in skin1/admin/, as I believe that will make it work for pro.

I did copy those to skin1/admin, but the mod still has pages with the error message.

The mod is X-Blog by Cartmods.

what are the files you're told to modify in the skin1 directory?

The error indicates that the files are likely ok, but the file edits to load the page are missing. These edits are usually else statements based on a $main variable. You may have been asked to put these in skin1/single/home.tpl. Any changes to that file, ensure they were also made to skin1/admin/home.tpl, or pull them out of skin1/single/home.tpl and put them into skin1/common_templates.tpl

Okay, I've been working on this issue for Shane, the problem is that X-Blog apparently is a buggy/unfinished product. I don't know if he has the latest version or not, but regardless, the issue came down to the $main variable being pass values of "rb_whatever", when other areas of the script expected values of "xb_whatever".

Apparently this blog software is based on a software called RantyBlog. When implementing for X-Cart, someone must have decided to change the rb_ vars to xb_, but did an incomplete job.

It's "working" now, but I don't know how far it will work, as after seeing that, and the actual pages when they were properly loading, I don't have much faith in the product.
