Hi

I have a vanilla install of X-cart - 5.2.13 with the VAT module.

Ive set it up to have 10% tax.

If I create a product for $11.00. the tax is $1.00.. HOWEVER x-cart is displaying the tax as $1.10 - which is very incorrect.

It also displays the tax line in between the subtotal and shipping lines - which is strange, I woudl have thought the logical place for the tax would be below the shipping line - as it generally includes tax on shipping.

Can anyone else confirm the calculation error?

I think it depends on the module settings (check the "Product prices are defined including this tax calculated for" and "Display prices in catalog including VAT" fields).

Thanks for your help, however I cannot see how any of the settings would introduce a calculation error like this?

I have it set so that product prices include tax.

So if a product is $11.00 this is made up from $10.00 ex tax price + 10% ($1.00) = 11.00.
So the GST/TAX component of 11.00 is $1.00 - not $1.10.

This is a basic arithmetic error? unless im missing something?

Note: Just updated cart to latest 5.2.14 - same problem

Turns out the VAT module disabled itself during an upgrade.

Once enabled, I was able to get the correct GST value. However there is a display problem on the cart page.. See attachment

Hello David,

What is wrong with the screenshot? Do you mean that the "inlcuding GST" line should be displayed above the shipping cost? But some sellers have GST included into the shipping cost too. That's why the shipping cost line is displayed above.

I thought the screen shot was self explanatory?

The section circled in red is not correct. The amount of GST on the SUBTOTAL ($11.00) is not $2.48 its $1.00.

I can see the new module has been released - With a nice rename (VAT / GST) - nice.

I have done a quick test with it, and it seems to work. But it was only a quick test.
