Default Change /xcart to /shop

I am looking for a way to change the url to say
http://www.dl-electronics.com/store/home.php instead of
http://www.dl-electronics.com/xcart/home.php?cat=566

My version is 4.0.1

Thanks

try renaming the folder your files are in and then update the config.php file.

Yes do what Shan said and it will work perfectly. I do it all the time as I do not upgrade I just do a fresh install on my websites whenever a new upgrade comes out. I always name it first x-cart install it then after it is ready I just change the name to store or whatever I am using on that website the update the config.php file with the new folder name. In your config file you will see the following line

Quote:
$xcart_web_dir ="/xcart";

Change the /xcart to /store save the file then re-upload it. Should then work like a charm. Only problem is if the search engines have a bunch of pages with your xcart directory then it will take awhile for them to upgrade it to your new folder.

Just a note, I would recommend everybody do this to name is something that's going to either reflect their business in the search engines, or something standardized like store or shop.

I'm fairly confident that x-cart did this for promotion of their product.
