Ever since we set up a 'free shipping' special (buy $50 worth of products, get free shipping) the X-Payments has failed about 85% of the time.

I don't know if the two are related. The 'free shipping' and the problems with X-Payments. We're using the original version 1.1 and everything was working properly until that particular point.

In the X-Payments Configurator I test the connection and get this:

Test transaction failed. Please check the X-Payment Connector settings and try again. If all options is ok review your X-Payments settings and make sure you have properly defined shopping cart properties.

Response is not valid.
Check logs.

Then, in checking the log files, I get this:

Which tells me absolutely nothing. Searching for these error messages doesn't produce any answers either.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Thanks in advance for your help!

Just an FYI, I did check this thread:

I downloaded the 'patch file' (the .diff file) they referenced. But, when trying to apply it, I got 'could not patch' error. This is due to us previously downloading another Poodle based 'update' file and applying it manually. The file it can not patch is the xpc_func.php file.

I also tried removing/replacing the modified file with the fully stock file (from a download of the same Xcart version, 4.5.4). It still produced the error. In other words, even though it was the completely unedited version of xpc_func.php, it stated 'could not patch' which makes no sense.

So, that failed as a possible remedy. The next thing was to download the 'new connector' files from Google Drive, which I did. But, no instructions were provided so i'm assuming it replaces the entire X-payments module? Or, is this also a 'patch' file that needs to overwrite certain files on the server?

The new connector module comes with the POODLE issue addressed out of the box. You need to install it in your X-Cart shop instead of old one. It also addresses many old issues, too.

It comes with installation script but if you can't get it installed yourself I advise you to contact our technical support or someone from X-Cart developers available on the market besides us.

OK, first.. thanks for your response.

I have no problem doing the installation. My concern is in the procedure in doing so. Do I...

1) have to remove the old one first? Or,
2) Do I just upload the new one over the top of the old and run the install?

I guess the bottom line is .. is this a complete replacement? Or an upgrade to the existing?

The new connector should replace the old one provided no customizations are there that can prevent this.

Basically you just need to install the connector over the old one in your X-Cart.
