I have installed Quick Search from XCartmod.com but cannot get it to show in the way I wanted to or thought it would work.

I need it to show as follows:
Main category > sub category > sub category

It will only allow me to show Main category > sub category but won't drill down to another sub category after that.

The development site is at http://dev.printclearly.co.uk and I need it to drill to the third subcat which is the printer model. this will then show the cartridges for that selected printer.

Has anyone else used this or managed to get it to work in this manner? I have emailed Craig at XCartmod but not heard anything back yet.

Any help appreciated!

Hi,

I'm sorry - I've not received your mail. You can choose the subcategory only once. As per the Quick Search page:

Rules:
- all columns must be unique

How essential is it for you to have the multiple subcat drill downs? We can talk about it internally and see what we can do if it's important...

Yes I really need this to do the multiple subcategory thing. The idea is as the customer is selling cartridges they select the main cat (printer manufacturer) > sub cat (printer series) > sub cat (printer model) which then displays the cartridges that fit in that printer.

Could you have a look at this as it would be a great addition to the script. I did think it already did this but probably didn't read the blurb correctly!

I understand the theory well - I used to work for the web team at EPSON

I'll speak with our guys over the weekend and see what we can do.
