Default X-Cart template editor clearing file contents

Ok, this one has me stumped. Whenever I do a save file in the template editor, for any template, x-cart saves *nothing* to the file. File size = 0, etc.

Our hosting provider just moved us to a new server, so I don't know if something got hosed or what. Anyone have any ideas?

x-cart 3.3.7

Just fixed that for someone else, moving the files from one server to another screws the file permissions on your template_c, catalog and any other folder the install created that x-cart needs to write to including your skins for the replacement feature.

It only happens on certain hosts.

You need to recreate those folders and set the correct permissions to them, remove your old template files too there will be a few hundred of them stuffing up your current template_c folder.

Worthwhile checking that your new server matches the x-cart requirements too.

Get your host to cleanout templates_c as odds are that you will not be able to get it done 100% with cleanup.php.

At worst, just rename the templates_c folder to templates_c_old or something and create a new folder named templates_c.

I have bounced around quite a bit with my host and this is old hat for me now. Make sure you have your templates_c folder permissioned to 0777.

Good Luck!

Here is how I make sure I get rid of all that is in templates_c

What I do is run cleanup.php then I delete the templates_c directory immediately without doing anything in the store. This is the only way I have found you can delete it.

Then re-create a templates_c directory with 777 permission.
