Default Can I do this in X-cart - vat exempt, HSBC,latest news,

Hi,

I have a new project to do and have the following requirments
(willing to pay for add ons that work well)

1, Customers can checkout with-out registering

2, Customer can choose VAT exempt, no admin check up

3, Extra checkout form with VAT exempt tick box & details form text area, admin can print out these.

4, Bulk buy discounts, with option of VAT exempt again

5, Latest news articles, and show excerpts on the home page

6, HSBC payment gateway - customer is pushed to hsbc cpi to enter card details

Regarding the VAT exempt, it can either be as a varient option on each product or just re-calculated at the checkout.

Latest news, don't really want to integrate a full blog. Just a category to hold articles then display excerpts either by manuall input or auto generated if poss.

Hopefully this can all be achieved

Thanks for any advice

Hi Yamadan,

Thank you for taking interest in our product and welcome aboard!

> 1, Customers can checkout with-out registering

Customers can checkout without having to register in X-Cart. Just allow anonymous checkout in X-Cart settings.

There is 'Tax exemption' feature for customers in X-Cart that works as follows:
* 'Tax number' field can be enabled by the store admin in customer profile forms (A customer can use this field to provide his or her VAT number; the value of this field will be included into the order invoice, so the customer will be able to reclaim VAT).
* 'Tax exempt' status can be assigned to certain customers by the store admin. Orders of such customers will not be subject to taxation.

Bulk discounts are possible, too. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQxfWxFj82o

X-Cart News management can help you with this.

X-Cart supports HSBC web-based integration that takes visitors off your X-Cart site to HSBC secure form for payment.
For HSBC "background" integration (when a customer doesn't leave your web-site) you should use a PA-DSS compatible payment software like our X-Payments - see http://www.x-cart.com/x-payments.html

You are welcome to contact us with any questions anytime!

Hi alex,

Thanks for reply.

Do you know if the VAT can be modified to work for my needs?

Also
When you say the customer can claim back VAT, do they checkout paying the vat or not?

Thanks again.

Yes sure. X-Cart comes with 100% source code opened and you can modify it as you wish. If you need some professional help - you can contact our project managers using http://www.x-cart.com/request_quote.html

Depends on how you configure taxes in your X-Cart. Can be both.

Yamadan - did you manage to get a price or solution for enabling tax exemption on the customer side prior to payment rather than it being admin side functionality which is post-payment?

My client changed his mind over this, but I did see that there is now a magento extension for this. Not helpful if you need it for x-cart though sorry.
