You need to download upgrade kit and copy all files from downloaded archive to the directory where X-Cart installed. Make sure you have correctly copied all files by checking the xcart/upgrade directory, it should contain the subdirectory 4.1.0_rc_3-4.1.0_rc_4. After that you should be able to start an upgrading.

well, i did (of course) copy all the files as usual to my shop.

The directory is present, but still it says NO PATCHES AVAILABLE.

Do we know when the final version will be released. I having to pause my development until its out because we need wholesale pricings on varients.

I would also like to know whe nwe can excpect 4.1 final..... we advertise allot and we are ready to open the new shop. But we first need the final to add the seo mods etc. So we have to choose to go online with our old one, or with the new one ! we hope that the new one will come out on of these days so we can present our new wbsite !

With all these issues found in the RC4 release and some of them aren't fixed yet, I would not be suprise if X-cart decided to release RC5 before the production release. Svowl, can you confirm this, one way or another?

In addition, may i know if X-Cart 4.1 really support mysql4.1 UTF-8 database?

Since i try to import chinese or other none english character to the x-cart, it will get error encoding for the text.

unless i modify:

then all problem solve.


is it the CORRECT way to solve the problem?
after that, no matter import or export data, the datafiles will be UTF-8 format.

I would like to make some recommendation for the new x-cart release.
1. Ability to add a product to a feature product in the modify product page.
2. Ability to search by product code or sku rather then browsing through categories.
3. Ability to change colors in the skin via a skin page rather then editing templates
4. Ability to import searched items.
