I have been making a lot of changes and updates to my store lately and somehow now the product filter is sorting the attributes in alphabetical order rather than the order I set in the attributes area in the admin panel.
For example it should be:
Length
Width
Depth

But instead I get:
Depth
Length
Width

I changed my template back to the old one and that did not seem to help. I took out the template tweak for the product filter. Again, no help.
It used to work but I don't know when it changed.

What version of the Product Filter module you have installed?
The latest version (5.2.9) allows to choose the sorting order manually on the settings page.

I have 5.2.8 I don't see any updates being offered.
I will dig around and see if I can manually check for updates. But that would explain what is going on.

Try this URL - it should clear the cache and reload information on available updates from the marketplace server:

http://[YOUR_DOMAIN]/admin.php?target=addons_list_marketplace&action=clear_cache

Clearing the cache did not work. I had to go in and switch to developer updates in "System Settings"/"Environment" before the 5.2.9 was offered.

I downloaded just that update and was able to choose the manual order option on the settings page.

Hope I did not break anything else.

Apparently X-Cart 5.2.14 with all module updates were still in developer wave when you were clearing the marketplace cache.

Looks like they released 5.2.14 yesterday to all of us.
