Default Mailchimp and Abandoned carts

Does anyone have any experience using Mailchimp and their Abandoned cart notifications ? I set up a test customer, added some products, abandoned the cart at checkout, and waited. I have mailchimp setup to send an email after 6 hours, that part works fine. The email came back with a coupon I added (mailchimp sees the codes in my admin so I know it's communicating), it had the contents of the cart in the email (pictures and prices) and 2 call to action buttons. 1 said shop which sends you to the home page, and 1 said checkout. The checkout button just sends you to an empty cart page. I logged in as the test customer and the cart is still there. So... The question is, how does the integration with mailchimp find the customers abandoned cart ? Does this interface with the Xcart 5 abandoned cart module ? Mailchimp support said I need to ask Xcart, they developed the API. Anyone shed some light on this ? Would be very cool if it worked....

Thanks as always

If the 'Checkout' button sends you to a black cart page, I assume it catches the wrong X-Cart session.
OR it is also possible that by the time the customer arrives to the site via the 'Checkout' button the session is already deleted from the database for one reason or another.
I would advise to look into that direction.

Thank you for the reply. I was testing this using my login and the time between the abandoned cart and the email was only 6 hours. I logged back into the site and the cart was still there but the link from the mailchimp email landed me on a empty cart page. If these sessions get stored can you tell me what table in the DB I could see these, if possible ?

All sessions are being stored in the xc_sessions and xc_session_cells tables.
If your store is pretty much default without custom modules, I would advise to report this as a bug to our public bugtracker.

If you have custom modules, try disabling them first.
Thank you.
