How to shorten a download link

Hi All.

I'm using X-Cart 4.2.1 with Download Expander. Some of my customers are having problems downloading their product and it seems like their email client may be splitting the download link. The links are 78 characters in length.

Is there any way to reduce the length of the link, perhaps by reducing the length of the key, currently 32 characters?

Look into an htaccess rewrite re-direct perhaps? Or force HTML emails to be sent out instead of plain text ones.

Bill at alteredCart kindly provided me with a mod which cured the problem, by reducing the length of the key. All fixed.
