We have just enabled the ranking feature of phpBB. Please tell what do you think of it.

Just thought I'd chime in here... We got too many sticky topics right now.

One suggestion, could we create a forum area where only moderators and admins such as yourself could post news related to the board. For example, listing hot topics, and informing people to post their x-cart version when asking questions.

Could keep from all these sticky messages just bloating the forums, that should be in a more "News" type area.

Just my 2cents.

My humble opinion, for what it is worth.

I think the new rating system may be misleading.
I am being rated as a senior member. I have lots of posts because in the start, I had lots of questions. Now, I try to help others, but I am certainly not that knowledgeable with this program to be considered a senior member. I can help only because a lot of the setting up is fresh in my mind, as I am still going through it myself, and have worked out a few bugs along the way.

I would hate to achieve the rating of expert at some point and give the newbies the wrong impression. Which is why I am including my level of knowledge in my signature now.

It is nice though to know the true experts like Boomer and Shan (and any others), but I certainly should never be classified even anywhere near to their ranking!

I might be just me....

Ranking is just done by postings, so it has no bearing on the persons ability.

I agree with Boomer there, Lets have a section at the top of the forum called 'Announcements' or something similar where we and x-cart can post important messages that concern everyone.

I agree to about the rankings, It could be missleading.

Expert? Me? Not a chance. I realize these are based on number of posts made but certainly don't want it to give the impression of a level of knowledge.
