Default $20,000 for this?

http://www.pensacolaprint.com/

I talked to a guy today who started a local website design company. Anyways, he was saying he charges between 10,000 and 30,000 per website for custom carts.

The one above was $20,000 - seems ridiculous. X-cart could do that easily. I could ahve made that site for a bit less than $20,000...

Guess I need to charge more.

Custom programming is a lot of work. I'd probably charge more for the site you referenced (though mine would look nicer)

Custom programming takes much more time than just tweeking around some smarty. I agree with Jon, I too would charge way more than $20,000.00 and it would look much nicer of course!

And for print, his client's turnaround sucks, his prices suck, and his paper options are quite limited. I guess this client has his priorities upside down... he'd be better off investing in superior workflow technologies than a (not so) slick website. A fancy website with a 3rd rate product vs. a top-shelf product and incrementally making your website better? That's a no-brainer.

We use printplace.com. Always satisfied.
