That's a good alternative. Currently, we're XC5 only and don't use any third party components in our setups (apart from our own Custom Mods / Changes etc) and... XC have the ability to do this. One of our previous posts in this thread had this XC5 example as proof of this:

....To expand this a little further, the advanced module adds a healthy degree of customisation that the free module does not. As we said earlier, paying extra fees, just for normal, STANDARD business requirements that are essential for e-commerce should NOT be the case for this specific Contact Us Module. A historic example, is the Free Simple CMS Module v the Extended Simple CMS Module. That was split the same way. We purchased the extended version in order to add conventional e-commerce layout logic and then X-Cart suddenly realised this should never have been a separate, chargeable module anyway.... So the free Simple CMS Module absorbed the Extended Simple CMS Module. Exactly the same thing needs to happen here.....

If you do not want to integrate anything from Freshdesk into XC, that's fine. I decided that I wanted to use the Freshdesk scripts in my site, and that required customizations.

Simply disable the ContactUs module in XC and create a tab/URL for customers to access your Freshdesk helpdesk. That is how I use it for one of my client sites, and it works extremely well.

@Triple A Racing

at the moment we are not going to implement the features of Advanced Contact us addon as part of the free Contact Us addon.

Yes, that was clearly understandable several posts ago, despite it being a huge 'elephant in the room' for X-Cart 5 in our opinion However, this was just one example in this thread, of the main point (see below) and not the sole purpose for this thread.

The recent reference to this thread from THIS one, was actually all about "...the main point..." which was shown in our opening post;

More free (i.e. included within the applied licence that's actually been purchased), standard, usability / functionality within the core product c/w any associated free modules and much, much less pure marketing waffle and hype. ASAP please! We want a core product c/w associated free modules that actually works, properly and does so after every upgrade too. Thanks to its great design, all individual XC-5 modules can be switched off very easily (for testing / effects monitoring etc) therefore, a core product c/w free modules that actually works, properly and after every upgrade, is very much achievable now and is a must have asap, not a maybe / if possible / next release etc This also relates to store owners who have written their own custom modules (as we have) because by switching them off as part of the upgrade and then testing afterwards, this adds to the ease of a successful upgrade.
Every release of the XC 5.3.*.* branch, including the latest 5.3.3.4 has contained yet more bugs and new problems. Meanwhile, the pure marketing waffle (often poorly researched!) and hype continues unabated... This is what we would class as 'zero progress'. Your own opinion may vary
