Default Brand new XC 4.5.5 Website

Hey guys, just want to share our site to you all. As of September 2012, we switched from LiteCommerce v2.2.41 to X-Cart GOLD 4.5.1

We have kept up to date with all patches/upgrades and are now running 4.5.5. (afraid to upgrade to 4.6 due to the hectic upgrade to 4.5.5 and the amount of customization we have done to our site)

Here's our site, check it out, let us know what you think, suggestions, criticism, enjoyment, etc!

I'm glad to know you've done that! Thanks for sharing, Marcello.

Overall it looks fine, but i think an online store looks nicer when category images are of the same size. At the moment they are of different sizes, for example, here: http://www.silverhorseracing.com/2005-2009-Mustang/

Thanks for the feedback! We are taking into consideration the category image sizes and looking into it today.

EDIT:

We went ahead and changed all category images to the same size, site looks MUCH smoother now! Thanks for the feedback elaine.
We have also upgraded a lot of the mobile site recently, to make everything smoother on all pages.

Thumbs up Re: From LC to X-Cart 4.5.5

BUMP:

We have implemented a lot of changes to the website. The overall site looks the same, but small changes have occurred.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Hi Marcello

I have a 2008 Mustang and have been to Sliverhorse's website many times looking for parts. It good to know that you use X-Cart. I have a website called nordicparts and I currently have Lite Commerce version 2.2.35 and want to upgrade to x-cart. Is the transfer possible with LC version 2.2.35? My webdesigner says that its not possible and he will have to start from scratch with X-Cart.

Glad to see a customer here on X-Cart forums! When we went from Litecommerce 2.2.41 to X-Cart 4.5.1, X-Cart gave us a PHP file that allowed us to transfer our database. If I recall, all we could transfer were products, maybe categories, and users. Though since LC uses a different method to keep passwords secure than XC, we required all users to reset their passwords when we did the transfer.

That being said, the design of the website does not transfer. That was started from scratch and took about 3 months with all of the custom CSS and HTML we have on our site.

We have made a TON of changes to our site since we first released the new site in 2012 (and plenty in the past month or so, on both mobile and desktop versions).

Feel free to give feedback! Would love to hear what our fellow X-Carters have to say:

Call me old school, but I really like the yellow outlines. Reminds me of video game/comic book art from the late 80's early 90's. I mean that in a good way, its a cool retro look.
