My store only needs English so I compiled the text. But now I'm having trouble editing it. I can't find all the places where it's stored. I really want to go through every bit of text that the program displays because of the small language errors. I'm not criticizing--I like this program--but it's clear that the author's native language isn't English. And I'm still not criticizing because his English is a lot better than my Russian. But I still want to go through and correct these errors. Can someone give me the locations of every template with displayed text?

Another problem... There is some text that seems to not be available for editing anywhere--for example, the mail signature text. The template for the signature displays a variable, and I can't find the location of the actual text. A grep says it's not there at all. I looked in the MySQL database, but I suspect that the program is not using these entries because I've seen some of this text directly in templates.

I hope that the only way to get at the text isn't to restore the default templates because (1) I've done extensive editing, and (2) the "default" templates give me orange and three columns, which is not what I chose at installation (I believe this is a bug). So if I restore templates, I have to then re-run the installation program and the whole thing will put me back many hours.

Can someone please help me with this? I'm a writer and an editor, and I can't have a site with grammatical errors! As far as I can tell so far, this is the only major problem with the program, but it's a serious problem.

The mail signature text should be in

skin1/mail/signature.tpl

However...I didn't even know there was an option to compile the language items, so your mileage may vary from mine.

Maybe we could contribute a modified set of English language files. I've been making small edits as I went along, too.
