Of course you can set up tax any way. My site works by setting the shipping to tax zero. Thus the checkout looks sensible and understandable. What I have said, and have always said, and have never ever got anyone at litecommerce to understand, is that the checkout LOOKS WRONG on the standard VAT settings. It may be technically to specification, it may be valid that the shipping excludes VAT and the VAT is the correct amount, but the display is WRONG. The product prices are displayed including VAT (as required by UK law, and convention) but the shipping price is displayed EX VAT. The problem would be resolved if you added the option to display the shipping including the tax.

Sheriff, please believe us. We run a webstore, you guys run a software company. We know what webstore customers want and are not good at programming it, you are great at programming and less experienced in customer service. Let's combine forces: You trust us when we tell webstore costumers expect the number of items displayed as we say all the time, and we trust you on implementing this flawlessly into the software. |

We've been down this road many times before.
It is a language thing more than anything. When you say "number of items" it means exactly that the number of items a customer adds to the cart regardless of the fact that it is from one or two different categories. As it stands now LC mini cart shows "number of categories" items have been added to a cart. This is very confusing to us and customers alike.

when will 2.2 be ready for a live store. I am not aware of any errors that would cause a major problem.

business tax number
On a more positive note:
Is it my imagination or did I see it correctly on the gif image Sheriff posted? We can now enter a business tax number in the tax page? That would be wonderfull because now everytime a module like AOM is re-installed I have to manually enter business tax number on all templates. Needless to say it is a pain.

Bug
The images displayed in the image editor do not match all the images used in the default skins. For example the button on all screens for buy now, update cart etc, it has background images (3) which are not on the image editor. Nice bit The product definition now includes, product page title, meta description and meta keywords. |

I am currently setting up a new site using version 2.2. So far it is holding up well. There have been some errors but so far all fixed promptly.
I keep stumbling accross more nice things in the templates. The SEO is going to be much easier. You can specify page titles at both category and product level, you can additionaly specify meta keywords and descriptions. The downside is of course how to update an existing site rather than instal a new site. |
