![]() I am about to commission a multivendor marketplace and can't decide between X-Cart and Magento. The website has a few bespoke functionalities and the front end will be revamped. I understand Magento has a wider developer community but the vendor backend seems lacking and this is important for us. X-Cart's is better but i don't want it to hold us back as we grow. Any help or experiences would be hugely appreciated!

![]() I came from Magento to XCart. I used Magento for years, and really liked it. However when they came out with the newest version, I installed it and found it very clunky and EXTREMELY slow. Its true Magento seems to have many developers, but there is a lot of hand coding in files when you add extensions. And if there is a conflict between extensions, its up to you (or someone you hire) to find and correct them.
There are many magento extensions I would like to see available for Xcart, and I've contacted a few developers about them. The costs involved are simply outside what I can afford. A few of them were talking over $3k, I just can't do that. One major thing I like about Xcart is installing an add on is just a 'click', and the system automatically installs it and re-deploys the store. I've see a few add ons for Xcart 4 I would like, but they haven't been revamped to work 5 yet.

Could you share the list of the addons which you would like to see revamped?

![]() Its been months and I'd have to go back through all of them to see which one's they were. One feature I'd really like to see is a way to configure a product. For instance, I sell aircraft so it would look like this:
The base aircraft kit Engine Options: Engine 1 or engine 2 Interior Options: Upholstery kit Pre-upholstered or not. Basically allowing the customer to create their own estimate. I would not expect a client to order this way due to the expense, but it would allow them to see all the options and price it out.
