I am installing and customizing an install of 4.0.8

I have moved my category listing to a horizontal list near the top of the page. The next thing I am trying to do is create a list of products within each category, but I would like the product list to be a simple list, just the product title and link to its' product page. This listing will probably take the place of the old category list that appears on the left hand column (so it will be about that size and shape) Which files do I need to adjust to accomplish a listing like that. Keeping in mind that the center section will still display a product listing for that category, but with thumbnails.

If you are installing 4.0.8, you should install the current 4.0.11 - it's less buggy.

If you assigned a "Display products list in multiple columns (1-3)" # in Genral Settings/Appearance settings, then go to the customer/main/products_t.tpl and comment out the info. you do not need.

If you didn't use the column order 1-3, then is products.tpl.

I was wondering how do I change the way the product is displayed from 1 column to 3 columns. I am taking out some of the text, so it will fit in better.
I read what Mike wrote about the general settings/appearance settings, but I can't find the appearance settings. Is this the same as appearance options?

I am using v 4.0.11.
I hope somebody can help me.

admin::gen settings::appearance options::display columns

once in general settings, look at the top, there is a drop down box, drop it and get appearance settings
