Surely you can see the contradiction either way.

well.. the fact remains that it looks like you were trying to mislead.

Not giving full disclosure as to your intentions doesnt cross the threshold to be called lying, but its definitely misleading the way you phrased your post.

seriously, why not just come out and say "Im a designer and im looking to find out what other designers are charging so I can adjust my rates accordingly?"

or were you worried you wouldnt get truthful answers or a good reception?

i dont think this has anything to do with the xcart community jumping on newblood (in fact the xcart community seems to be very helpful to eachother), it has entirely to do with how you misrepresented yourself.

People get a bit cagey about broadcasting their rates on the internet.

The best way to get a developer to work on your site is to go straight to the one who you think does the work best suited to your store from the many example websites out there.

I rest my case

Ok,

I moved this over to the right forum now.

I think the guy has got what he needs and everyone is happy again so lets leave it at that.

I think the lesson to learn is to try and explain things as best you can when posting anything

Guys, seriously, can we let it drop? It was a confusing post and he has clarified and got the information he was looking for. He has since given me the project details, so I happen to believe what he says.

There is no reason to beat a dead horse just for amusement.

Wow, I never thought the people of this forum would take something this far. I feel like Im listening to a bucnh of 13 years make fun of someone to hide thier unsatifactory lives. Can't you people just let it go? I guess this place is a great place to go if you don't want to get help and love being flamed by simple questions. I will always cherish the initial misconceptions I had about you all. I am sorry my post was so underhanded that you had to sink to may level and become jack asses yourselves. OR maybe I'm just flypaper for ass holes. Either way, thanks

Locking the thread down, petty flame wars can go to e-mail or PM. It really would help if people kept posts like this to a bare minimium as alot of people use this site for a resource to find answers to questions. More posts means more to shift through. Anyhow, 2old2play if you want me to unlock the thread PM me. Thanks.
