Hi cflsystems

Janrain has released new version of the integration API recently. Old integration scheme is deprecated and works unstable at the moment. As a result We have released new a new SocilaLogin module for X-Cart v 4.5.4-4.6.1 based on the new Janrain API.
I've just installed the latest version of X-Cart (461gold) and SocialLogin module (build Dec 25, 2013) at https://mobileadmin.x-cart.com/xcart461gold/home.php and don't see any delays or
errors. Have you downloaded the latest version of the module?

Andrey,

I see that new distribution of the module were placed in my file area on 24-25 DEC

It would have been helpful if you posted a "we have new versions of the module" to the announcements area.

Thanks for sharing this. I look forward to testing the new integration.

Jeremy

Agreed with Jeremy - since this was not just some bug fixing release but a major change of the API you should have announced it ...

Before I posted I did try the latest from the file area and the pack is dated 12/20/2013.... I'll have to try now the 12/25/2013 pack...

First impression:

Interface issues not yet resolved. Customer has to be a rocket scientist or uber-geek to figure out they can use social login at checkout.

In my rant last year, I suggested X-Cart start over, and DESIGN something that works.

Integrating Janrain's new API is not what I was hoping for.

Social login needs to solve customer login challenges, not create more.

Many ecom sites use social login and do it remarkably well. Look at HSN.

It pains me to have to share this -- but until X-Cart's demo site represents a basic implementation for normal ecommerce UX, I have to consider this module broken.

The UX should be:

1. Customer adds product(s) to cart.
2. When customer is ready to checkout, they can:
a) checkout as guest
b) login using store account (username/password)
c) create store account (username/password)
d) login/create store account using social media

Presently, if customer arrives in checkout, she has to click a tiny link to see social login.

When I saw this, I thought, "X-cart did not modify the UX at all, and my input last year was a waste of typing..." and I bailed.

The customer UX needs to be DESIGNED. Then coded.

I am here to provide input if asked. But until the customer UX is designed, I can't use this module.

Thanks anyway.

Jeremy

Janrain Engage services allow your visitors to quickly sign-in to your online store via their existing social network accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc).

The solution lets users bypass your traditional registration process and sign-in with one click, resulting in an accelerated sign-up process for new users and a simple login experience for returning visitors.

On top of that, Janrain Engage allows your visitors to share their comments, purchases, reviews or other activities directly from your online store to their friends on multiple social networks, all without leaving your store. Social sharing with Janrain Engage lets you trigger sharing based on any number of user's actions, including purchases, posting comments, user-generated content or clicking a share button, enabling the word of mouth marketing for your business and transforming your users into brand advocates.

I want to add that we provide FREE installation service for all X-JanrainEngage Integration modules purchased before the 1st of March 2011.

My store is in x-cart Platinum 4.6.1.I have added it in the store but it is not logged in through Facebook.

I have contacted with support but not getting any positive solution.

Thanks,
xtech

I have deleted the design@health-shoppe.com from admin.Login through facebook it is login and directly go to checkout page.I have added the necessary information's and when I click submit it is saying that Email address already exists in the database!

I have checked again from admin and see design@health-shoppe.com has registered.

How a customer login through facebook can able to buy the product then? What will be the ideal process then?

Is anyone actively using this module relative hassle free, or does it still have some issues as per the few (old) threads within the forums?
