How hard would it be to upgrade from x-cart version 4.2.3 to 4.3?

There will be script to update the database. The store front you have to re-design from scratch

Am I to understand that since 4.3 is supposed to be the first version of x-cart that is PCI-DSS/PA-DSS compliant, that given it will not be released as a "stable" version until "August 3, 2009", and the "payment module" will not be available for earlier versions until after version 4.3 is released that x-cart will fail to be in PCI-DSS/PA-DSS compliance until well after the July, 2009 deadline?

Dear Customers,

X-Cart 4.3.0 beta 4 released on October 17, 2009. You can find the distribution packages in the File area of your Help Desk account. The online demo for X-Cart 4.3 beta was updated as well: http://dev.qtmsoft.com/~svowl/demo

Thank you for your help

Will there be an upgrade patch from the beta versions of 4.3 to the production versions?

I can understand not providing a patch between beta versions, but from beta4 to production will make it more attractive to actually try to develop a store with 4.3, opening in the spring.

Thanks

Jeremy

Just downloaded Beta 4. CHANGELOG is unchanged. I would like to know what are the changes from Beta 3 to Beta 4.

Customer Reviews. I would like to approve a review before publishing. No matter if the user is registered or not.

Here is a situation: an unregistered visitor is spreading bad reviews in your website. Based on XC 4.X as administrator I am not informed immediatelly on this. Maybe I can visit a product in the near future, I see the bad review and I will access the product page and edit or delete the review.

My suggestion: in Admin area it should be a menu link "Customer reviews". The link will go to a page for seeing the list of all reviews added by time, by product, etc.

Default Re: X-Cart 4.3 beta testing

While playing with 4.3 and working with 4.2.3 I have noticed a difference in the order status when using authorize.net AIM. In 4.2.x when the method in authorize.net is set to "auth" any orders using a credit card come through as "pre-authorized" with no way to change the status other than clicking on the "capture" or "decline" buttons (and no email is sent to the customer on order placement, but that is a whole different can of worms).

In 4.3, the authorize.net AIM module works the same as in the 4.1.x releases. Is this the way it is going to be in the stable 4.3 release or is it going to be the garbage that is in 4.2.x?

Are there any plans to fix the problems in the 4.2.x branches?
