I've searched for the solution to this but I can't seem to get it to work.

I have succeeded in centering the images on the "Featured Items" page but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the buttons to center. I've played with the product template as well as main.css but nothing seems to work.

Has anyone been able to do this or can maybe point me in the right direction?

It's tricky because they have float left applied. You need to include them in additional container and center them there
