Default xcart 4.5

I don't see it addressed here but. one thing the upgrade states clearly is the mods, etc are removed that support paypal and a host of other payment areas. We use paypal. Does this mean we now have to purchase a mod or something to continue with paypal if we upgrade to 4.5? or will the upgrade leave our info alone so we can keep what we have. I don't plan on spending $1500 to put that new mod in.

Tim

Only payment methods which do not use iframe or gateway hosted page are removed. If you are using PP Standard you can continue using it with the new version. Since PP Pro is used onsite to process CC it is being removed. If you want to continue using PP Pro you need xpayments

ok. I will have to find out what payment we have then as Xcart people set it up a month or so ago. we were testing it tomorrow to make sure it was working. can you give me an idea where to look to see what they set up for us?

or is it one of those, if i have to ask, then i don't have to worry about it.

If cart is setup to collect payments on the site then this is being removed. If it redirect from checkout to payment gateway page to collect payment info then it will not be removed

I thought PP Pro used a backend connector to connect to PayPal and therefor just giving the impression to the customer that they were still on site.

Isn't xpayments now in the region $1200 ?

I looked into using another cart recently for a small project - I wont mention the name of it - but it had a PayPal Pro module for $50 - why is xpayments so expensive

PP Pro uses form generated by the cart to collect and transmit CC info to PP. Yes in the background but the info is collected and transmitted by the cart which is not allowed anymore (unless you are some of the big guys and can handle the huge expense of going that route)

XC also has PP Pro module included for free as part of the software. Just use any XC version prior to 4.5.x. But then the cart will not be compliant

Thanks for explaining.

So basically - if you want it to appear that the customer stays on your site whilst paying - then the only option is xpayments (plus $1100) ?
