Default Category navigation and clean url

Hi.

I'm just trying to learn about this shopping cart at the mo.

just installed and imported some of my categories and products then I encountered this problem.

If I assign a product to multiple categories and using clean url, when I click the product detail link, the category navigation becomes incorrect.

for example

I have 2 categories

TOYOTA (Category id = 1)
HONDA (category id = 2)

and I assign a Oil-filter (clean url = oil-filter) to both category.

then I go to HONDA then click Oil-Filter details link, the category navigation becomes

TOYOTA :: Oil-Filter .

If I don't use Clean url it works perfect.( I mean it displays HONDA::Oil-Filter)

But if I use Clean url, the product page url becomes

http://www.mydomain/xcart/oil-filter.html

so that the category navi becomes

TOYOTA :: Oil-Filter.

just figured that in order to the category navi become

HONDA :: Oil-Filter

The url has to be

http://www.mydomain/xcart/oil-filter.html?cat=2

Is there a way to solve this bug/problem?

I hope you understand my explanation.

Thank you in advance.

Default Re: Category navigation and clean url

Also I have round about 20,000 categories in total (including sub-categories)

Just imported all categories and some products into the DB.

But the site became very slow. each time I click the category link it takes about 15 second to load the new page.

Is it simply too much for x-cart to handle? (20,000 categories and about 80,000 products)

BTW I have a Xeon Quad Core with 24GB RAM so I don't think the server is the problem.

Thank you.

Masui, I must admin it is a bug in X-Cart. I created a report about it at http://bugtracker.qtmsoft.com/view.php?id=40275

Please join that ticket by adding yourself as a "monitoring user". Our techs will post fixes and reports for this issue there.

80,000 SKUs is not a problem for X-Cart. We know about X-Cart powered sites running 1 million SKUs, but 20,000 categories may be a problem even on server you are using. Possible solutions are
1) better server (I know your server is good, but you need a better one for 20K categories)
2) optimization of X-Cart code
