This isn't a slam against BCSE at all. I just am BURNED OUT from toiling to get 4.0 ready to go and then pretty much determining I needed to use 4.1 instead, and starting all over again from scratch.

I see the checkout process in 4.1 is about a gazillion times better than 4.0, very sleek. Is there really a reason to install BCSE's custom mod (which I already bought) for 4.1? Obviously it helped tremendously for 4.0 but 4.1 out of the box looks so good to me it's hard to imagine improving it. Again, I'm asking because I have a bad attitude about installing ALL those custom mods I bought all over again.

I think it is a personal preference. The EZ Checkout mod (actually by WebsiteCM but sold at BCS) and the Fast Lane checkout in 4.1 are two approaches to the same problem. The goal at the end of the day is to make the process as simple as possible for the client, so whichever one works better for your customer base is the correct answer

Except, I already bought it since it was so desperately needed for 4.0. I don't think I'd buy it again at this point since the checkout's been so improved.

Maybe if I get ambitious I'll try to compare checkout rates between them some time down the road.

If you do choose to want it for 4.1.x, let us know as there is an upgrade fee so you wouldn't have to pay for the full mod for 4.1.x, just a small fee instead since you already have it for 4.0.x.

It really is personal preference which you like better for 4.1.x

I JUST bought 4.0 and then JUST moved to 4.1 seeing that 4.0 wasn't a great match and so I was just wondering if it was worth the effort/complexity to add this 4.1 mod to my 4.1 shop. Thinking maybe not.

Besides the look preference, the big advantage ezCheckout has over the default x-cart install is the final payment page, as by default customers have to scroll far down the page to enter their payment details, and whereas ezCheckout puts it right infront of them.

Hmm, as I'm checking out at altered cart, they seem to have a simplified version of the native 4.1 checkout. Really nice. Namely they collapse all those iterations of billing/shipping/cc address into ONE set of boxes -- the holy grail. Is this something ezcheckout for 4.1 offers too?

Pretty straightforward to do with the registration form, we use it extensively. Just use hidden divs and checkboxes to show them. Improves conversion quite a bit when a customer doesn't get overwhelmed with data on the registration page.
