Default seeking PAID Support

Hello.
Tony has helped me tremendously in the past from the XCART team. He's great!

But I know need to ask if there is any type of PAID SUPPORT because I have 2 issues I cannot figure out. Im sure its simple codeing but I cannot find the files to modify.

Such a time-sensitive issue that we are willing to pay your full cost for support (just to modify some code).

If anyone can help, thank you.

1) on the check-out page, can the email address be moved under the shipping info? or removed all together and have them enter the email somewhere else?

2) can the "continue shopping" button be removed all together. Tony sent my instrucstions which I followed but once applied, other things changed in the cart. So I reverted back.

attached is an image of where the email address is. Great spot. Can this be done in the cart im using above? ill gladly include this question with the paid support that im seeking above as well, thank you

Hi Dave!

What you want is already implemented in X-Cart 5.0.9.
So, what I would suggest is:
1) Check out our latest X-Cart 5.0.9 version on your test server. You can download it here:
http://www.x-cart.com/downloadxc5beta

2) If it is OK with you, you can upgrade your X-Cart Next installation from 1.2.3 to X-Cart 5.0.9 simply clicking the "Updates are available" link at the top of your admin area and it will add new checkout to your store.

tony_sologubov: Thank you too. Im downloading the latest x-cart 5.0.9 from the link you provided now.
I am willing to click the "updates are available" link, from what I remember, the last time I did that, the CACHE build completely bombed and I had to redo the entire cart.

I test with the download that you provided, thanks again.

Hello again.
Tony, I installed the beta and it looks good http://vcsigns.com/cart/ especially the check-out page with the email address where its at.

Question is: if I click "updates are available", we also had did custom mods... will the custom mods stay (such as text changes under custom translation and uploaded logos) ?

Dave,

Since this is a major update, all custom modules must be reviewed and adjusted to new core version. However, I do believe that in your particular case, it will be quite easy to adjust the mods.

What you need to do:
1) Copy your live store to some test environment. Do not upgrade your production store!
2) Install updates. During this step all your custom mods will be disabled.
3) Adjust each custom mod's getMajorVersion() method in Main.php file. It should return '5' now. Once you adjust the mod, enable it and make sure that it works as intended, otherwise, apply changes so it would work as intended.

Enable mods one by one, do not enable all of them at once. It will allow you to see if there is a problem with particular module and it will save your time in case you need to fix it.

4) Once you made sure that your core and mods are updated, move your store back to production web-site.
