Look at the prices for 3dcart.

$36/month for 100 products and 2 gigs of transfer. That's quite a lump of money considering you cant put it on your own server. That right there is a deal breaker and should be avoided.

Since X-cart is stand-alone, you can use any server and it has no limits on products. If you need help on managing the server, get a managed solution.

Stick with X-cart. You'll spend more money using them.

Please don't compare shopping carts here - this is for questions about x-Cart, not comparisons. Thank you

Are you changing your policy Alex? I was always told to not allow posts about other carts.

No, policy is not changed.

This forum section is for those who ask about starting new projects and consider using X-Cart. At the same time promotion of competitors solutions is still not allowed and any promo will be removed.

This post doesn't seem to be a promo one though it does mention a competitors solution. It is more "X-Cart vs a hosted shopping cart".

Lucus81, if you need a hosted solution you can try X-Shops or Ecwid

I'm not promote them of any way!.
I've moved from them to "your" cart and wanted to hear xcart advatages over them in order to build up my confident that i've choose right shopping carts.
That all once again i'm not promote anything here.

Thanks
Lucas

I remember in the past that even the mere mention of another cart was grounds for the thread to be removed - so now that appears to be changed? We can compare other shopping carts TO X-Cart and how much better X-Cart is, but not mention another cart if they have a better feature or implementation of the method. Is that correct?

If this is true, it opens the forums up quite a bit more and will finally allow users to be able to voice their opinions about how something works better in X-Cart or how it may have been done in another cart so developers can review the other cart and figure out what we're saying rather than having to type everything out.

I understand the promotion of other carts etc, but I've always found not being able to mention other carts very restrictive. If you have a better product (which X-Cart does on many levels), then why not compare it to another cart.... but I digress
