Default Used and New Pricing

I just installed X-Cart and playing around with the functionality. Set up a test product, added another field to display. The client would like to primarily sell used products (main price, main product they'll be entering in). But, for each product there will also be a 'new' product price that the user can buy (think what Amazon and buy.com do). This would be displayed on the product details page.

I don't see by default how X-Cart can do this. Don't really see a module/plug-in can do this. The only way I can see how this can be done is to enter in two separate products...one new and one used. Then, link the two as a related product. Which would be a lot of extra data entry.

Any way I can accomplish this? Allow the customer to buy a new or used product? The new product can be linked, like the above sites mentioned do it.

Thanks
Mark

I am new to x-cart too, so I would wait and see what one of the pros have to say, but I think there is a variable products mod out there that can accomplish that. You might want to try looking at BCS?

By default you can add in 'product variants' / 'product options'. These will allow you to make products based on the original.

So if you got a "55 inch tv", then you can make a product option called "quality" and for the variants you can use "new", "used", "refurbished" or whatever you want. You can have these be just simple options (no price change) or have it change the price. To do this, just head to the products product page in the admin area and it should be on the right hand side if on 4.4

Built-in product options should do the job.

Very good, that works nicely! Thanks for your help. I have more questions I'll probably post here. I don't have access to the 4.4.x forum (but previous versions), so I guess I'll just post them here & see if anyone can help.

Thanks again, big help.
