Default Getting a logo to fit

I have read many threads over the past few hours, and done a little trial and error, but I cannot seem to adjust the height of the section that contains the logo. Currently, the logo ( 88 x 88 ) overlaps the Categories menu on the left. I have tried editing main.css and altskin.css, with the guidance of of Firefox and Firebug. I'm sure I missed one entry that needs to be changed, but I didn't get it right. So, I just reverted to the originals since nothing I did made a change.

To go from what I see in Firebug, I think I need to make the entire "line0" in altskin.css larger, but that didn't work.

So, I'm left scratching my head.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jason

#header .logo {
top: 28px;
}

Remove that and it'll be in the top left.

You will need to adjust the line in the header containing the logo with the new logo dimensions, also the img style for that line and the top margin for the container below the header (main-container or content-container or similar)
GIMP has nothign to do with this

Are there any guides on how to edit templates? on the older branches there were a few nice guides.
